a scared little boy in a big world all alone with his arms up in the sky hoping that his father would just pick him up hold him close to his chest so that the beat of his heart could calm his soul is how i feel

all my life i patiently for my father to be there for me, all that he put me through, from his broken promises to his repetitions lies, back to his confusing goodbyes, and still i forgave him
and like that little boy im still standing here

waiting for my father to teach me things, things that a man teaches his son, like how to woo a girl, and how not to allow my pride to get in the way of my success, and most of all how to be a man
and without you father im still that little boy

all i wanted was a father to be there for me, and if you where maybe my life wouldn't be so confusing, so many path i went down, i probably wouldn't went down if you was around, so i stand here as that same little boy with his arms in the sky crying out cause
